Fall Birthdays (How Colorful!!)

One has to be honest, Spring has always been my favorite time of the year followed very closely by summer. It has to be the swimming. With Spring there is an awakening. Red bud trees, those tiny spring green colored leaf buds, tulips blooming in my flower bed followed by iris, I love it and I want more of it.

I shouldn't say I dread fall, but everything starts to die. So I've been working on my attitude and I have some beautiful pictures of the trees around where I work. They were gorgeous last week. My favorite are the sugar maples. The red and orange leaves, now that's pretty. Since the weather's been nice, can I put in a request that we go no lower than 50 till April? Please?

Well Dink had her birthday, as she has for the past 8 years, on Halloween. The party the girls all had was quiet fun and I've found I enjoy when they have friends over. It livens up the house (could you believe I said that with as many children there are with residence here?) and makes me feel more part of thier lives. There was one little friend of Dinks that was just so precious. Big brown eyes, curly brown hair and the sweetest personality.

We did the jello worm contest where there's a gummy worm in the jello and you have to be the first to get it. They loved that. Big weenie roast (they were foot longs) and everyone had quiet a time.

Then a week later Bubs has his birthday. Everyone gets excited about that. We got him a motorized quad which he's very upset that he can't sleep with at night. It was so funny. Dad puts it in the back of the van and here's Bubs throwing a fit, so Dad just tossed him up in the back of the van as well. He sat on his quad in the back of the van (don't get excited, we were just driving around the park), every now and then we hear it whine as he bumps into the sides of the van. God love him!

We get to a part of the park and the girls had brought their roller blades. I've never done that! I put the largest pair on, WAY too big, but I made it happen. Bubs had so much fun going underneath me. Well, I've got my hands on my knees and Doog Boog is pushing me. I throw my hands up and yell, 'yeah!' (not smart) Here comes my daughter, shoves me one more time for good measure. Folks, I ain't old, but I ain't as young as I used to be. I knew it was going to happen. She knew it was going to happen. Feet go flying up in the air and BAM!! Down on my caboose I go. Right on the asphalt. Knocked the wind out of me. My first thought? 'That's gonna hurt in the morning.'

Doog Boog comes up to me, tears streaming down her face from laughing so hard, trying to ask me if I'm alright and lift Mom off the asphalt. (If you aren't laughing, you should be - we both know it was funny) Dad is trying his best to keep a straight face. Had I any breath left, I'd have laughed too. It wasn't fun trying to move later on that eve. My body locked up and said, 'I don't think so!' Surely the fact I chased the girls around on the playground didn't attribute to that at all.
